A member of our care team will meet with you regularly to make sure you and your baby are healthy during this special time. During these check-ups, we will monitor the heartbeats of both the mother and the fetus, and may use ultrasounds to check on the development of the growing baby to identify any complications that may arise during delivery.
We may also discuss your normal pregnancy changes, such as nausea in pregnancy, weight gain, heart burn, and perinatal mental health. As your delivery date approaches, she will help you plan for the labor experience and provide advice on breast feeding preparedness. We will work with you to develop a birth plan that is safe and as unique as your growing baby.
We can manage high-risk pregnancies and offer several options for prenatal genetic screening in conjunction with the Maternal Fetal Medicine physicians, who are located on VHC’s campus.
