What is an OB Hospitalist?
At Virginia Hospital Center, OB Hospitalists are hospital-based obstetrician and gynecologists who provide consultation, emergency care services, resident physician education, and assist in the management of labor, deliveries, and surgeries.
In 2007, Virginia Hospital Center was one of the first hospitals in the DC area to implement a hospitalist program. It has been a successful addition to the inpatient and outpatient services you receive at Virginia Hospital Center. It is another way we fulfill our mission to provide excellent care.
Our OB Hospitalists are board certified obstetricians and gynecologists who are present in the hospital 24 hours a day and seven days a week. They assist with your care if your doctor requests that they do so or in emergency situations. They are experienced and skilled obstetricians and gynecologists who are immediately available to provide care for you in Labor and Delivery, the Emergency Room, or the Operating Room. They are experienced and well regarded in all areas of Obststetrics.
