After your initial assessment, you will meet with your doctor regularly. Your follow-up Physician Visits will include the following:
- History of present illness and Physical
- Review of status of on-going chronic conditions
- Review of any new symptoms or illnesses
- Review of weight loss progress including dietary and/or medication adherence
- Review of physical activity
- Targeted physical exam
- 12-Lead Electrocardiogram if Indicated
- Repetition of any lab testing expected to change with implemented diet, medication, or weight changes
Treatment:
- See above for labs
- Adjustment of current medications:
- Decrease or eliminate medications that cause weight gain
- Decrease antihypertensive mediations as required to prevent hypotension or hypovolemia that can occur with initial weight loss and diet changes
- Decrease insulin and oral hypoglycemic medications as required to prevent hypoglycemic episodes that can occur with weight loss and diet changes
- Selective initiation of weight loss medications
- Exercise prescription and/or referral appropriate to the individual patients readiness for change, physical abilities, and requirement for specialized instruction
- Selective referral for psychological/psychiatric assessment and treatment
