Drew Martin is a Northern Virginia native, who has had a diverse range of occupational and work experience prior to joining the cardiology team. After graduating from Fairfax County Public Schools, he enlisted in the US Marines and served as an Infantryman deploying to Iraq and various other parts of the middle east. Following his service, he was a certified personal trainer and group exercise instructor. He graduated from George Mason University obtaining his Bachelors in Science in Nursing Degree in 2012.
He was then employed as a Registered Nurse in the Medical Intensive Care Unit at Medstar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington DC from 2012 to 2017. In 2015 he was recognized at the Nurse Clinical Preceptor of the Year for Georgetown University Hospital for excellence in training new graduate nurses to the critical care setting.
Drew then attended the University of Virginia in Charlottesville for his graduate education, earning a Master of Science in Nursing and board certification as an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. After graduating, he was employed as a NP by the Department of Cardiac Surgery at INOVA Fairfax Hospital’s Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit.
Drew joined the VHC Physician Group – Cardiology practice in the Fall of 2019, where his varied professional and clinical experience makes him a valuable addition to the team.
