Because certain types of gynecological cancers can be recurrent, Dr. Doherty will want to watch your health for some time after you finish treatment. There is a risk period of five years after initial treatment ends to have the cancer return. You may need to get physical exams, blood tests, and imaging tests such as X-rays and/or CT scans for at least several years to look for possible signs of cancer recurrence.
Dr. Doherty does in-office cancer screenings for patients up to five years after treatment ends.
