Biography
Board certified in Internal Medicine, Anesthesiology, Critical Care, and Hospice and Palliative Medicine, Dr. James M. Shear completed his training at Washington University/Barnes-Jewish Hospital St. Louis, after graduating from the University of Missouri.
Since then, Dr. Shear has had over 20 years of experience in managing pain and other symptoms, and 10 years of experience in Palliative Medicine. Dr. Shear joined the Virginia Hospital Center Physician Group as the Medical Director of Palliative Medicine in 2014. He was listed as a Top Doctor in Northern Virginia Magazine in Pain Medicine and Hospice and Palliative Medicine in 2015.
