Biography
Dr. C. Francisco Espinel is a board-certified general surgeon with a special interest in acute care surgery, general surgery and gastro-intestinal surgery. He focuses on surgical emergencies as well elective cases on a daily basis.
Dr. Espinel grew up in Washington, DC where he attended Gonzaga Preparatory School and Catholic University of America. He received his medical degree from Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara then completed his General Surgery residency at George Washington University Hospital. He then pursued a surgical fellowship at Columbia University Medical Center. He is now an attending surgeon at Virginia Hospital Center, an Assistant Professor of Surgery with the Georgetown University Department of Surgery, and the Georgetown University Medical School General Surgery Coordinator at Virginia Hospital Center for medical students and surgical residents.
Dr. Espinel is a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is also a member of the Arlington County Medical Society and serves on the Education Committee of the American Society of Breast Surgeons.
Dr. Espinel is taking new patients with acute or non-acute care needs.
