Dr. C. Francisco Espinel is a board-certified general surgeon with a special interest in laparoscopic and robotic surgery for gall bladder, hernias, wounds, appendix, and skin and soft tissue disorders. He forcues on general surgery and is available for any acute surgical needs.
Dr. Espinel grew up in Washington, DC where he attended Gonzaga Preparatory School and Catholic University of America. He received his medical degree from Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara then completed his General Surgery residency at George Washington University Hospital. He then pursued a surgical fellowship at Columbia University Medical Center.
He is now an attending surgeon at Virginia Hospital Center, an Assistant Professor of Surgery with the Georgetown University Department of Surgery, and the Georgetown University Medical School General Surgery Coordinator at Virginia Hospital Center for medical students and surgical residents.
Dr. Espinel is a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is also a member of the Arlington County Medical Society.
Dr. Espinel is accepting new patients at Virginia Hospital Center and the Alexandria location.
